Bad Dreams

I'd forgotten that codeine makes me hallucinate.

It wasn't that long ago that I had my gallbladder removed, so you'd think that I'd remember that I had fucked up dreams while I was still on the codeine for the pain. Apparently not.

I came home from work last night with a terrible headache, and I decided rather than take one of my really expensive pills that barely work, I'd try using some of the left over Tylenol 3's I have.

By the time I went to bed I'd taken 4. So, really, it's not shocking that I was hallucinating, especially since I hadn't eaten very much all day. So, I went to bed and then woke with a start about 15 minutes later. And yes, I'm sure it was that long, because I looked at the clock.

I guess when I went to sleep I'd tucked the blankets too tightly around myself, because I woke up thinking there was someone in the bed with me. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing. Except that in this case it was. I couldn't turn over to find out who it was, and then when I tried to move my hands I couldn't move them either. So I was in a bit of a panic.

I woke up in time to realize that it was just my mind playing tricks, but still, for a brief moment I didn't know what the hell was going on. And to be safe, I decided I'd sleep on my back for the rest of the night.
