Tuesday musings

This evening I received a phone call from my grandfathers wife. It was shortly after 7:30 and I was asleep on the futon watching TV. ( Ok, I was asleep on the futon in front of the TV, I wasn't watching it. ) She called in hopes that I would be at home this evening so I could tape something for her.

I said that I would in fact be home and would absolutely tape the show that she requested (I was going to watch it anyway), and promised that someday I would go over and give them lessons on how to set their VCR to tape things.

So, here I sit watching Horatio Hornblower. I don't have to watch it, I have mastered the art of taping one thing and watching another, but have you seen the television schedule on Tuesday night? I hope to hell everyone is at the movie theater, because otherwise they must be bored silly.

Or perhaps TV just realized that The Pirates of the Carribean was released on DVD today and assumed that everyone was going to rush out to their local Blockbuster and rent that for their evenings entertainment.

Whatever the case, something seriously needs to be done about the quality of TV on Tuesdays. What happened to the shows that used to amuse me? I'm positive there used to be one or two that kept me from more useful tasks on Tuesday evenings.
