Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen

Unless you are 6 years old, do not go see this movie.

I know, you're all thinking 'well, duh!'

I didn't pick the movie. But, when my friend Tara suggested it, I thought, yeah....it looks like it could be cute. Based on what exactly? I have no idea. I hadn't seen trailers for movies in ages (I had no TV for a month), I hadn't really read any reviews either. Obviously if I had, I wouldn't have gone.

Basically my idea that the movie would be good was based on an interview I saw Diane Sawyer do with Lindsay Lohan. Yup, because her opinion of her own movie would be completely unbiased, wouldn't it? Of course, she didn't really say that it was good. At least, not that I can remember. It was more like she had a lot of fun making the movie, etc.

I can see how it would be fun. I mean, making a movie in general should be fun, shouldn't it? Even if it is complete and utter shit. And making a movie where you're it's star? That should be even better. But, none of that means that the movie is going to be any good.

Apparently I was never very good at reading between the lines.

The only redeeming quality of the movie was the guy that played the lead singer in the band that Lindsay's character was obsessed with. I don't even remember what his name was supposed to be. However, he was a very small bit of joy in what was otherwise a mind numbing experience.

You understand, that he wasn't a particularly good actor. He wasn't anything overly special to look at. But, he's Australian, and he had the most adorable accent ever. Yes, my bright light in the otherwise dismal hour, was Mr. O'Donnell's (well that's who he played in Coyote Ugly anyway) accent.
