From the good, and unimaginative people at The Friday Five.
When was the last time you...
1. ...went to the doctor?
Follow up for my gallbladder surgery last year. I saw the surgeon about a week later, so that would make it around the 15th of May, 2003. I don't know the exact date, that's just a rough estimate.
2. ...went to the dentist?
Um...sometime in the fall. Again, I don't have the date tattooed on my brain, or my calendar for that matter, but since the 6 month appointment is due sometime in May, it must mean I was there in December.
3. ...filled your gas tank?
Hm....About a week ago I think. Maybe longer. It's getting close to being empty, so basically I'm just waiting for the price to drop (there is no way I'm paying 78.5/litre for gas), and I'll do it again.
4. ...got enough sleep?
Monday night. I went to bed at 8:45pm and got up on Tuesday morning at 7:45am. Not quite 12 hours, but it was definitely enough. I blame inventory!
5. ...backed up your computer?
I'm not sure I've ever done that...well, at least not THIS computer. I don't back up my own computer because anything that is stored is on a storage drive, so it seems relatively safe as it is. Generally if something is going to crash it's going to be the operating system, and that's on it's own hard drive. So, I think it should be ok. Also, the only thing on this thing that is overly important is my resume, and I can recreate that if need be.
When I worked at the help desk at the drug company I backed up computers all day every day pretty much. There was one time I painstakingly saved everything on someone's computer, zipped all the appropriate files up, and then forgot to dump them into their network drive and started to reformat. That was one that didn't go quite as well as I'd planned. Thankfully, she'd had her computer backed up only a few days earlier to try and fix the same problem that I was working on, so she had a relatively recent copy. We just told her she had a virus, and that the new data had been lost.
