I am not one of those people. Which makes me sound like I'm declaring myself the devil's assistant or something. I'm really not. It's just that I have this selfish vein in my body where I think about possible good things I could do and think...yeah, what's in it for me? What's strange about this is that I got an email at work yesterday (which was sent to all of the managers), which had info about vacation, and staff and health and safety. In the message about the health and safety stuff it had a little Q&A and the first question was "What's in it for me?" It's like the HR manager knows exactly what I'm thinking! ;)
So, someone who IS doing good is the very generous Coleen. I'll be honest, I have no idea why she's doing this, she does have a very long story as to why, and I did read it, I just forget. (As well as being selfish, I am forgetful)
It's a fantastic cause, and she is trying to raise $1000 this week. Since it's now mid-week I suspect she's already made a considerable dent in that total, but I'm sure that every little bit will help. Personally I am very poor and can not donate, no matter how much I'd like to... a girl has to eat and put gas in her car to go to work (hence making money for the next paycheque), so unfortunately I can't help. Other than to make this plea to whomever it is that actually reads this site.
If you can help her, please do. She is walking for a very fantastic cause, I don't know the statistics but there are a lot of women that die from breast cancer every year, and they can use all the help they can get. (They being the scientists who are doing the research)
Please help.
