I feel like such a slacker

No seriously. I've been told several times over the past week that I work too hard, but...

I had five days off at the end of last week and the beginning of this week. I wasn't too worried about it, it was my birthday, and my mom was here visiting, and we had a party, etc.. Anyway.

On Tuesday I started to feel a twinge in my throat. It was concerning but not unbearable. On Wednesday I went to work. By then the twinge in my throat had become a firey ache. I'd had no sleep the night before, and on top of those things, I had a raging fever. But, I'd just had five days off, so I had to go back to work. I also had a mystery function to go to that night with my boss.

The function was bizarre. It was put on by the mall. It was at a private club near the intersection at Richmond & Peter Street. But, we went in, and there was salsa music playing, people handing out champagne cocktails, and coming around with hors d'ouvres. Thing is...there didn't really seem to be a whole lot of point to it. They were awfully insistent that we go, but, I couldn't figure out the point.

Anyway, after that, I came home and shivered violently for hours until my fever broke. I went to work the next day for about an hour and then came home. I went to the doctor that afternoon and discovered that I have strep throat. And I haven't been back to work since.

Today is the first day that I didn't wake up with a sore throat. So, I think I'm safe to go back to work tomorrow. I was told that while the throat still hurts, that it's still contagious. So...I stayed home.

But, only working one day in a week is very bad!
